📺 Privacy Policy
KVideo Kids · Last updated: September 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the KVideo Kids application, available for Android and iOS ("the App", "we"), handles information. The App is a curated video player for children, and it was built around one simple principle:
We do not collect, store, share or sell any personal information. From anyone. Ever.
1. No data collection
- The App has no sign-in or account of any kind.
- The App does not collect names, email addresses, location, contacts, photos, identifiers or any other personal information, and it requests no privacy-sensitive device permissions.
- The App contains no analytics of any kind: no third-party analytics SDK, no crash or telemetry reporting, and no attribution or advertising SDK. It has no third-party software components at all.
- The App contains no in-app purchases and no commerce of any kind. We show no advertising of our own and receive no advertising revenue. Videos play inside YouTube's own player, which may show YouTube's advertising as part of its playback experience; see section 3.
- We do not operate any server that receives or stores user data.
2. What is stored on the device
Everything the App remembers is created by the user, stays on the device only, is never transmitted anywhere, and is deleted when the App is uninstalled:
- Favorite channels and favorite videos.
- Parental-control settings: the daily screen-time limit, the bedtime window and which channels are switched off.
- The number of minutes watched today, so the daily limit can be enforced.
- A recent watch history of up to 50 video titles, shown to parents inside the Parents Area. It can be cleared at any time from that screen, and entries older than 30 days are removed automatically. Titles are refreshed from the current catalog and disappear when a video leaves it.
- A temporary cache of the public video catalog, refreshed about once a week so the App does not re-download it on every launch, and deleted automatically once the data in it is more than 30 days old, counted from the moment our server fetched it from YouTube.
- On Android, none of this is included in Google backups or device-to-device transfers.
3. Children's privacy (COPPA)
KVideo Kids is designed for children and their families. Because the App collects no personal information whatsoever, no personal information of children is collected, used or disclosed, in accordance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- There is no search and no free browsing. Children can only reach videos from a fixed, hand-picked list of official children's channels built into the App, and only videos that their own channel marked "Made for Kids" on YouTube are shown.
- A typed parental gate, the numeric answer to a randomly generated addition problem, protects the Parents Area, every link that leaves the App, and any attempt by the player to navigate away to YouTube or a browser.
- Because all content is designated Made for Kids, YouTube disables personalized advertising on it and serves only non-personalized advertising. See YouTube's made-for-kids policy and Google's advertising policy.
4. YouTube content
Videos in the App are played through the official YouTube embedded player, from official public YouTube channels for children. The video list is a single catalog file that our own server compiles from those channels' public playlists using YouTube API Services, keeping only videos their owner marked "Made for Kids".
- By using the App, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
- Video playback is provided by YouTube and is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
- The App itself sends no personal information to YouTube or to us. It downloads the catalog file anonymously, with no key, account or identifier of any kind, and it holds no YouTube API key at all.
- The player is loaded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not store viewing information until a video is actually played.
- On the first launch the App shows a short notice and asks the grown-up who installed it to agree to this policy before videos open. This policy, the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy are always reachable from the About screen.
5. Network use
The App connects to the internet only to download the catalog file from our content delivery network, and to load video thumbnails and video playback from YouTube servers, all over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Catalog downloads carry no identity and we do not read or analyze their server logs. As with loading any web page, YouTube and Google necessarily receive the technical information inherent to an internet request, such as an IP address and a browser user agent, under the Google Privacy Policy. The page that hosts the player is served from Firebase Hosting, which keeps standard server access logs; we do not read, analyze or use them, and they are not linked to any identity.
6. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
